IT Paid Intern – State Treasurer’s Office
During my internship at the State Treasurer’s Office, I was at the frontline of IT support, monitoring Service Desk+ to address hardware, software, and security issues reported by employees across various departments. Whenever a critical problem arose, I ensured it reached the right supervisor promptly to prevent any disruption.
Beyond daily troubleshooting, I contributed to meaningful IT projects, including automating the agency’s monthly cost reporting process—a change that cut completion time by 40%, making operations more efficient. I also managed onboarding and offboarding for staff, making sure every new hire had a fully functional setup and every departing employee’s access was properly secured.
In addition, I collaborated on developing a comprehensive Security and Procedure Policy report for the agency, strengthening the organization’s approach to IT security and operational standards. This experience gave me a well-rounded perspective on both technical problem-solving and process improvement in a professional environment.
Product Owner Capstone Project – EPRI
During my Capstone project with EPRI, my team and I were tasked with tackling a complex challenge: protecting industrial systems that use OT (Operational Technology) while they became increasingly connected to IT networks. Traditionally, these systems were isolated and secure, but remote access introduced new vulnerabilities and potential cyber threats.
I collaborated closely with my teammates to develop a project schedule and charter for agile development, ensuring we stayed organized and on track. We dove deep into OT technology and its architecture, studying how it interacts with IT and identifying threats like Stuxnet that could exploit these connections.
Our goal was to create a security detection framework based on the topology provided by the client. Using standards like NIST, we mapped security devices to specific scenarios in Excel and integrated the results into Splunk for monitoring and analysis. This project not only strengthened my technical understanding of OT and IT security but also honed my skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and creating actionable frameworks to address real-world cybersecurity challenges.
IT intern – oman society of engineers
During my internship at the Oman Society of Engineers, I gained hands-on experience managing and designing websites, using WordPress to update and improve the organization’s site. Beyond web development, I provided technical support to staff, helping resolve day-to-day IT issues and ensuring smooth operations across the organization. This experience strengthened both my technical skills and my ability to assist users effectively in a professional setting.
IT intern – muriya
At Muriya, I expanded my IT skills by working extensively within the Microsoft 365 environment, supporting staff in their daily operations. I explored automation tools like Power BI and Power Automate, creating flows to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency. Additionally, I experimented with Cursor AI software and developed Python programs to automate small-scale processes and generate actionable reports. This role strengthened my technical versatility and reinforced my ability to apply IT solutions to real-world workflows.
